Clay Business Park
The Clay Business Park, originally identified as one of the New York States "Semi-Con" sites, is ideally suited for a number of industries. The site has utility infrastructure onsite or plans to be onsite, is generally flat, has access to transportation infrastructure, is zoned industrial, is located in the Town of Clay - a business and expansion friendly community, and is near the labor force of northern Onondaga County and southern Oswego County.

The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency owns the 250 plus acre site and has commissioned a number of engineering studies to facilitate the development of the site. Pending specifics of a 'deal' - the site is shovel ready.

The OCIDA recently completed (with the generous financial support of National Grid) a virtual site plan showing two large site users with plenty of room for expansion and recreational space for employees. The virtual site plan below takes a 2-D look at the park with options to look at transportation, utilities, expansions and more. The animated version takes you on a 3-D 'drive' through the park.

Lakefront Development
The Syracuse Lakefront Development Area, located between Downtown Syracuse and the shores of Onondaga Lake, offers a wide variety of exciting new development and historic rehabilitation projects for Central New York. The Syracuse Lakefront is currently undergoing a $1 billion reclamation and redevelopment of approximately 800 acres of underutilized land — transforming it into a premier waterfront tourism destination and mixed-use community center.

The Franklin Square historic district is home to several beautifully restored loft buildings, an elegant urban park, and the Onondaga Creekwalk trail. Following the Creekwalk north, the Inner Harbor, part of the NYS Canal System, is in the process of being transformed into a recreational and entertainment centerpiece in the Syracuse Lakefront.

Construction totaling over $5 million has begun on several exciting public amenities in the Inner Harbor, such as a waterfront promenade, gateway entrance areas, public parking and docking space. A 1,500-seat amphitheater over the water is also being constructed on the west shore. Commercial development around the harbor is currently being solicited.

Also located in the Syracuse Lakefront is the Stadium Market Center, including P&C Stadium, home to the Syracuse SkyChiefs AAA baseball team and over 150 local events annually; the Central New York Regional Market, hosting hundreds of local growers and attracting thousands on sunny Saturday mornings; and the newly built Regional Transportation Center.

Carousel Center, the 1.1 million square-foot shopping center, is experiencing record sales and has plans for a major expansion of their facilities next year. Plans for the Syracuse Lakefront also include the creation of an Aquarium & Entertainment Center, to be located on the water’s edge. Roadway and other local development areas are preparing Syracuse to support a lively, vibrant Lakefront experience.

Semiconductor Manufacturing Initiative -
New York (semi-NY)

Semi-NY is a comprehensive effort to encourage semiconductor manufacturing in New York State. The cornerstone of semi-NY is our shovel-ready fab sites located across New York State.

With the semiconductor manufacturing industry in mind, New York State has facilitated the pre-permitting of industrial sites specifically for chip fabrication. Onondaga County’s 245-acre site in Clay has been selected as one of the few sites in the state. The site offers all the necessary components needed for this and other demanding industries including ample water supply, wastewater, dual feed electric, natural gas, and proximity to air and ground transportation.
